We are looking for plugin developers
« on: February 04, 2012, 07:59:07 AM »
Minecraft server, looking for plugin developers!

Requirements:
- Solid Java knowledge
- Having made bukkit plugins in the past
- We might ask that some plugins you build for us will be exclusive

Benefits:
- The chance of working for one of the best minecraft servers
- Honor and a feeling of self-fulfillment
- No money :P (you guessed it. we can't afford to pay now :S)
- Developer rank after you have proven your skills

Please write a short plugin that has the ability to limit the number of mobs per world, and submit it via PM to me.
If you are accepted, you will work under the guidance of FearThe1337 (he's our Project Manager).

I will try to work something up and see if I can do it. I am experienced in Java and am looking into bukkit plugin development. I have in the past but since we always had fear to do it I never bothered really digging into it.

Well I worked on this today and I am close, I just keep getting an error that I am trying to figure out. For some reason the classes are not talking to each other like they should.

For those of you trying to create plugins use the YouTube tutorials by dinnerbone and this http://dinnerbone.com/minecraft/tools/pluginator/ that gets the basics created for you. I won't explain how exactly to incorporate them into Eclipse because you should know already how to add the files to the project.

I almost finished mine but decided to give it up.

No offense but I figure that there will be too much pressure and rules to go along with it for me to do it. Also another game I play has just released a new API(the old one has been broken for a few years) and I am starting on an android app for that game. The great thing about that game is even when they release new features you don't have to worry about changing your code or updating it to match new things.

Minecraft should really make an interface for modders already.
