Starting today, we are getting study corner specialists. We will try this for one month. At the end of the month, I will decide if the specialists are or aren't necessary. We need about 2 specialists per topic. If you don't know what a specialist does, click here. If you think you have what it takes to be a specialist, click here to apply.

The application page will close in 4 days. Feel free to post any questions, comments or concerns down below.

Good luck!

How do you determine whether they are a specialist or are just saying they're a specialist to make people have the wrong answers (aka trolls)?

Like personally, I can prove that I've mastered the English language by sending you links to 50+ of my published works.

Ill add a proof area I guess. I also was gonna use the month to see who is good and who is not.

What if you don't know some grade level curriculums? For example, I'm a student in middle school, so I don't really know high school/university curriculums.

But still, how are you going to test whether they are good at it or not?

I'd imagine the test will come once someone actually comes to them for help. I think people are over thinking what this is, it's just a way for people to help each other out, not an official job/tutoring scheme.

So why do you need specialists if you can just tag them on forums (@djkirsh)? Lol. I'm not understanding. Why limit it to one person when this section is meant for everyone to help you?

Like, I'm not a specialist in chemistry, but I still know chemistry. I'm not a specialist in math, but I still am good at it.

It isn't limited to one person. I'd imagine there would be more than one person for each area (for example maths covers a wide range of skills so not one person can have that whole subject). It's more a rough idea of who you can go to if you need help, otherwise people may have no idea who to go if they need help with a specific problem.

So, in that theory, why would you have "specialist" when these people who have a special set of skills can just post on the topic when they feel like it (instead of having one set of people for one subject)?

Also like we will have 2-3 people per subject

The specialists are for very precise and more exclusive stuff. The regular board is more for general stuff. Also if they want they can still post about it on the forums. They don't have to pm the specialists. Its really for go to people. If someone has a quick question they can just message the person or even see if they are online in game then talk to them. Does that make sense @djkirsh ?

1. If people don't want to create a post for their issue for whatever reason, and would rather have a 1 to 1 discussion with someone experienced (for example talking about essay skills for History, it would be more practical in a fluent conversation that in forum posts).

2. So people know whose replies could be more reliable and trustworthy on the post, but this does not mean the person should throw the other peoples idea's/help away.

Also, what tree said is also* valid.
