I'm sitting here hungry and came up with this idea. I think it will be interesting to see what people around the world eat and how it may vary from place to place. So if you have food, take a picture and give a little back story as to what it is. I'd love it if it was home cooked by you or someone else but any food is welcome.

Rules -

No posts without a picture and explanation unless you are discussing someone's food post. I encourage you guys to communicate about others food so maybe we can try new foods.

Bonus points if you include recipes

Oh jeez why would you do this to me haha - for those of you that don't know I'm a chef!

First up I guess I'll go simple home food, time for some chilli con carne! (I don't work by recipies at home, I just cook from inside c:)

We need to be friends. I love cooking, I'm making something right now. I'll post when it's done.

I usually grill though, but I'm good at cooking on the stove and baking

Spaghetti with meatboulders.

I cook the meatboulders at a med-high temp to start so they get a little browned, but not fully cooked. Then I reduce the heat to low and cook in the sauce. The meatboulders are lightly seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder then cooked and topped with a little more garlic while they cook.

The pasta is simple spaghetti rigati cooked for 8 minutes, bring the water to a boil then add pasta and salt.  Once done, top with shredded Parmesan and parsley flakes

Here's a piece of work that I added on a menu on an old restaurant I worked at about 2 years ago when I worked as a cook.

It's pretty basic, medium rare sirloin steak with fried vegetables, red wine gravy and a little extra deep fried dumpling with prime rib filling

I have so many useless shit pictures on my phone that are like 2 years old, never wanted to remove them cause they would might have a purpose for later. Guess here's the place where I can dump my stupid shit for u guys to drool and spit over. Not exactly what I had in mind, but fuck it right.

Here's another old menu, we usually had 3 different starters, 3 different main courses and 3 different desserts. I got the honor of making one out of all the 3 courses, so here they are.

Starter, Boiled green 'Skillinge' asparagus with hollandaise sauce together with a panko-deep fried cod and nettle powder.

Main course, Celandine-grilled lamb fillet with red wine gravy together with string beans, spinach, pickled cabbage and a rillette of lamb leg.

Dessert, Rhubarb compote with lemon crumbs together with vanilla ice-cream, roasted white chocolate and strawberry chips cooked in the oven during night-time.

I like cheap yummy dishes (Not that I'd eat that, i hate fish) but heres mine I just had tonight, wasn't going to post because its not the prettiest but hey.

Jasmine rice cooked with salted water, once all the waters gone I add a little bit of butter - it tends to make the rice stickier. Scrambled hamburger with brown gravy, not much else to it. I season the hamburger with salt, garlic and a little pepper.

I can't do fancy cooking :( I've had zero training in cooking other than my mom and TV haha.

Heres todays dinner, home made mac and cheese with spam.

I make the cheese sauce from a roux and add various cheeses, today I used Shredded Montrey Jack, Colby & cheddar cheeses with Cream cheese and mascarpone. For the pasta I used Ridged ziti, its big round tubular pasta so it captures a lot of the cheese inside of it

I topped the mac and cheese with toasted panko bread crumbs seasoned with salt & pepper. In the cheese sauce I have cayenne pepper, salt, pepper and smoked paprika
Edit: Forgot to mention I toasted the bread crumbs in olive oil, as they're unseasoned/untoasted or something.
