You should ditch yahoo now, and here's why

Are you using a yahoo mail account? Ditch it now. My recommendation? Google. Also good, outlook. Anything really BUT NOT YAHOO!

Here's why:
- As an IT specialist, I am constantly asked by people to help them recover their e-mail accounts. With any other provider, if you forget your password/security questions, worst case scenario, you can talk to support, prove your identity and regain access. With yahoo, if you lose your security question their suggestion is "Create a new yahoo account".
- Security. Yahoo is extremely unsecure, with hundreds of millions of their user accounts being breached, and information about the account holders flowing across the internet
- Stupidity. They choose to be holier than the pope and block any e-mails if they even remotely think there may be something odd with them.

Example:
- The company I work for had a black friday sale. This resulted in a lot of order confirmations being sent and due to this yahoo decided to block our mail server for "spam activities". By definition, SPAM is an unsolicited e-mail, while this was very solicited seing as the users had posted the commands
- On SFT, we are constantly dealing with our e-mails which are sent by the forums being rejected by yahoo for bogus reasons. We meet google's security standards and we believe that should be more than enough. In fact, one could argue we are more secure than yahoo because our user database has yet to be breached xD


TL;DR - Switch from yahoo, it's a terrible service. Create a gmail account, set up auto forward form yahoo and enjoy a spam-free experience.

NOTE: I am not paid by Gmail or any other e-mail provider. I am just fed up with Yahoo's bullshit.

I had problems with my yahoo account twice. Then I moved to Google and now I have Hotmail and Google as an alternative! I couldn't agree more with this!

To be honest hotmail isn't the best either i mean they cause problems with receiving too many emails and stuff but at least they are secure-er.

I still have my yahoo account from years ago, I do need to switch my accounts out of it, been meaning to for a while. They really do seem to come up a lot in breaches. Once is ok but if its a reoccurring thing then they're obviously not addressing a serious security flaw. You may have just inspired me to finally get that done.

I should mention I have 3 gmail accounts as well that I use regularly too. xD

I had a hotmail account but idk the info. :s Its from like when I was a kid, one of my first emails, thus the name is super lame. xD

Finally, a true reason to why i should keep my hotmail

I have been using Yahoo for a little over 6 years now, and I have never run into any problems. My whole family is still stuck on yahoo and probably won't need to change. All my family members have their phone numbers attached to their yahoo account and have had to reset their lost passwords many times. But, since they have their phone number saved, yahoo just texts them a code in which they can type in to log in, but not change their password. To change their password, they must get another code, then enter the new password. I've never had spam problems, with only the true spam being blocked out. Maybe every once in a while a regular email is blocked out, like a sign-up confirmation email, but I can just look in my spam folder for it. My family and I have never had our account hacked into or taken, and I haven't heard of yahoo's bad security. I do however have a few google and Hotmail emails, but I don't like Gmail because you can't send .jar, .exe, or .zip files without getting a security message, preventing you from sending the email. With all my 6-year yahoo experience, I have made lots, I mean LOTS of accounts with my current yahoo email address. So if I do have to switch, I don't think I can change the email on all of my various accounts to a new one. And the same for my family. They have 10+ years of yahoo experience and probably more accounts linked than me.

-So the real question is: Is it really worth me and my family switching to Gmail or Hotmail?

You reccommended outlook in the start of you post but now you're saying that hotmail is bad the fuck there the same thing outlook is just a different name they both run off the same servers with the same security and owened my the same company worked on by the same people and saying you're a techy guy please you run a minecraft server get a life and grow up
