I too have decided to make a modpack. This modpack will run Minecraft 1.7.2 and will focus on providing a Survival Experience, enhanced with more mobs, more weapons, more everything and also Bibliocraft so you can decorate your homes and make them pretty.

I have not yet made a server, but I am working at that right now so hopefully, soon there will be a server.
Give me your feedback on how you think the mod should be improved (but keep in mind that this is running on minecraft 1.7.2 so not all mods work yet with 1.7.2)

Nope, we can't add these to survival, not without having to need a custom client.
I will try to make a server soon (atm i am having a problem with the modpack - trying to host a server with it leads to many crashes but I will ask dpa for help.

I've been experimenting with the Modpack, and I do like some of the features that are included, such as coal smoke. When coal is mined the fumes, if you stand in them too long, will start to drain your hearts. I'm excited to see what comes next as I continue to explore this Modpack. It has been good so far, but it will be even more enjoyable if it is playable with other SFT members.

I also, just now, experienced that coal also explodes sometimes when mining it. It scared the living hell out of me... xD

Yeah but it'd mean everyone using survival would need to use it, putting off new joins

Like Jamie said, you need to use the technic launcher for this Modpack. Once you have downloaded the launcher you'll need to scroll down to "Add New Pack" and click on it.

Once you have clicked on it, this should pop up.


Now as you can see above that it is asking you to "Paste Platform URL Here".  You'll need to click on the web link that Towelie posted above: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/towelies-derpy-modpack.362466
The link should have taken you here, where you will need to click on "Platform URL", which will automatically copy the URL.

Then once you have clicked on it, all you need to do is go back to where it was asking you to "Paste Platform URL Here" and click "Paste". Once you have pasted the URL, all you have to do is click on "Add Modpack". And you'll be done!

For some reason I'm having lag issues with the mod pack, but I don't know if it was just a one time thing. Hopefully if it becomes a server, I won't have the same issues.
