Hello Survival players!

We will be having an application period for any players who wish to apply to be staff. The basic requirements to apply are:

-Must have 100 hours uptime on Survival (exceptions may be made if you've been staff on another SFT server before)
-Must consistently be getting 6 or more hours of uptime each week on Survival
-Must not be staff on or own any non-SFT server
-Must have or be able to get a Skype

Please copy the following application and fill it out in your reply. Only post VALID applications or questions, please! Those who are accepted will be contacted by a Mod+ within a few weeks. Thanks!

IGN:
Survial uptime:
Can you get 6 hours of uptime on Survival each week?
Have you been banned before? If yes, why should we overlook this?
Do you have or can you get a Skype?
Are you applying to be JMod or EventHost or both? If EventHost, will you be able to host 25 events per week?

Hey Survival players!

Per suggestion of @Towelie we are trying something new. An autoshop has been made at /warp emp (look behind you when you warp there) with some of the most commonly sold items. These are basically just crops, ores, and ore blocks. The most commonly bought items are there as well.

The prices have been adjusted to be 15% more for buying, and 15% less for selling, per the convenience of being able to sell when the Emporium is not open.

Please let us know any constructive feedback you have for this idea!

Hey Survival players!

I am trying something new and allowing you all to have a voice in evaluating our staff team! Many players have expressed concern that there are issues we are not dealing with or responding to, and this is just one of the ways we're creating to give you a chance to offer input. This time through, it's Mods who are being evaluated. The same rules apply as before:

Please evaluate the Mods based only on their staffing ability. This means not giving someone a higher rating simply because you like them as a person or are friends with them, and likewise, a lower rating because you dislike them since they caught you X-Raying once or breaking the rules. Try to keep both favorable and unfavorable bias out of your evaluation. If anyone is obviously biased or abuses these evaluations, their entire response will be removed!

The four categories you will be evaluating them on are Activity, Involvement, Professionalism, and Friendliness, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best. Any other comments you have can be put in the comment boxes.

Activity - How active they are ingame, on forums
Involvement - How involved they are, how much effort they put in and work they do, how much work beyond Mod duties they do
Professionalism - How professional they are when doing staffwork and interacting with players, how well the represent the SFT staff team
Friendliness - How friendly they are to players and other staff, how well they get along with others

Additionally, there is room to voice your comments and concerns about the Mod team as a whole. These comments will be broad and general, but they can still help us improve! These will close on Friday August 26 so please get your evaluations in before then.

Thanks guys!

Hey SFT!

This is in response to concerns that staff are not quickly if ever replying to complaints or problems brought to them. The following is a form for you to request specific help. It allows you to select the rank needed to do a task (please choose the lowest applicable rank- ie. you need help to WorldEdit a glitched area, ask for a Manager not an Admin or Owner) and provides space for you to explain the issue.

The goal of this is to help requests to be more organized and delivered to the entire team instead of a single person. This should allow Manager+ specific requests to be solved more quickly and efficiently, and reduce the possibility of someone forgetting to do a task. This doesn't eliminate the option of asking a specific Manager+ to help or catching one in-game, which you are still free to do, but offers an alternative if you need one.

One of two situations should happen within 72 hours- the problem will be solved, or you will be contacted with further information.

This can also be used to report private issues or voice complaints, however please do not list them off in the form, it will create a mess in our database. Please only say "I would like to express some concerns" or "I would like to report someone" and provide your Skype or means of contact in the "Other details" section. Please follow these guidelines so we can best assist you!

Thanks!

This form will be located in Official Support under Survival Server: Official Support- Survival Server

Hey Survival players!

I am going to try something new and ask you, the Survival players, to evaluate our current Manager+ team by filling out this evaluation. This is very important because it gives us much-needed feedback from an outside perspective. Survival staff, please do not fill these out!

Please evaluate the Managers based only on their staffing ability. This means not giving someone a higher rating simply because you like them as a person or are friends with them, and likewise, a lower rating because you dislike them since they caught you X-Raying once or breaking the rules. Try to keep both favorable and unfavorable bias out of your evaluation.

The four categories you will be evaluating them on are Activity, Involvement, Professionalism, and Friendliness, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best. Any other comments you have can be put in the comment boxes.

Activity - How active they are ingame, on forums, in Skype chats
Involvement - How involved they are, how much effort they put in and work they do, how much work beyond Manager duties they do
Professionalism - How professional they are when doing staffwork and interacting with players, how well the represent the SFT staff team
Friendliness - How friendly they are to players and other staff, how well they get along with others

Additionally, there is room to voice your comments and concerns about the Manager team as a whole, as well as the Admin team and the HoS team. These will close on Friday August 12 so please get your evaluations in before then. Thanks guys!

Hey SFT,

This is long overdue, but here is a clarification of what is not allowed in chat and certain behaviors. I am showing you both the player side of these rules, and the staff side (how staff will be directed to handle these instances) so everyone can see how things work. This has been posted in the general SuperFunTime rules as well, found here: General Rules and Guidelines for SuperFunTime Survival

If anyone disagrees or has a comment about something specific, please respond with constructive criticism. Any negativity for the sake of negativity will not be allowed. Please note that these guidelines were put in front of the Manager+ team and were critiqued and changed per group decision.

Swearing:
For players: The occasional few words are okay as long as they are not directed at anyone and aren't inappropriate, but spamming it is not, and neither is just spewing foul words into chat. Example: "oh f*ck me I died" which is fine, versus "f*cking sh*t son of a b*tch" which is over the top.

For staff: If someone is spamming, saying crude things, or swearing at someone, you should step in and give them a verbal warning or a kick if necessary. If it continues, issue a ban.

Vulgar language:
For players: No comments targeting race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identities, suicide, self-harm, religion, political groups or cultures, or sexual innuendos.

For staff: If someone makes a mal-intentioned comment, warn them and explain that it's not allowed. If spamming or it continues, issue a ban.

Trolling:
For players: You can mess around and pull pranks as long as you don't break any server rules and if the player(s) affected or staff tell you to stop, you need to stop. Tread lightly here; just because you intend to replace blocks you broke on your friend's house doesn't mean they don't see it as you griefing them, and then it's not a prank anymore.

For staff: If both sides are okay with what's happening, they're not getting hurt, and no rules are being broken (some rules may be bypassed because of the consent by the other player) trolling is fine. If not, you may intervene and handle the situation accordingly.

Arguing with staff:
For players: If you feel personally offended by staff, take it up with them in a private PM. Staff should do the same beyond the initial warning "Hey [soandso] please stop!"

For staff: If someone violates the rules or their behavior has justified you giving them a warning, the first one may be publically in chat like seen above, but do not continue any further discussion in global chat.

Jokes:
For players: No jokes targeting race, religion, political groups, cultures, dirty jokes, or anything distasteful and mocking modern issues such as jokes about 9/11, the current political climate in the Middle East, mass shootings, etc.

For staff: Same as vulgar language. If someone makes a one-time comment, warn them and explain that it's not allowed. If spamming or it continues, issue a time-ban.

Debates:
For players: No debates on religion, politics, or any delicate subjects in global chat. Private debates are fine, but staff/SFT are not responsible for offense taken in private discussions.

For staff: If any of the above topics begin to start a debate in global/local chat, warn those involved to stop the conversation or move it to a private setting. If it does not stop, you may kick those who are carrying on.

Hey all,

A while ago, @millsyboi suggested creating a minigame for TTT (Trouble in Terrorist Town) on Survival. Him, myself, and @Katherine began working on the project (no creds to me, I didn't do much) and a few other players I believe. However the project dried up and we need your help to start it again, and finish building!

The arena looks like this so far, @millsyboi is making some sewers below. We need some players to design the inside of the houses, but not just ordinary decorating. We need secret objects hidden, secret passageways, hiding places, tricks and traps, they need to have a good plan behind them. If you are interested, reply here with the following form:

Warp 1 and Warp 2 refer to two of your build warps that show your building and designing skill.

General Announcements / [Survival] The Market
Jun 11, 2016, 06:06 PM
Introducing a new concept, an alternative to the Emporium, the Market.

The market will be, obviously, a market. It's layout will be similar to a farmer's market, with various stalls/kiosks spread out around a plaza. Players can pay to rent out a kiosk when the Market is opened, and then they can do business.

How this will work:
The Market will be opened by Managers+ as an alternative to the Emporium. They will announce its opening soon, and any Members+ who wish to rent a stall may private message the Manager with the stall they want. It will cost a small fee, 1000-5000 Empbucks, to rent a stall. The Manager will add the Member+ to the protection of the kiosk. After a few minutes in which the Manager is adding players to protections and they are setting up, the Market will be announced to be officially opened.

The kiosks will have 5 item frames to display items they are selling and 2 spaces for signs to display prices, but they could sell more if they wished. The Members will do business in their kiosks to whoever comes to the Market. They may sell whatever items they wish, but prices will be monitored by the Manager+ running it to make sure they are not scamming players. The Members running a kiosk would choose their own prices and use their items to sell.

The Market will be open for at least 20 minutes at a time and will close when the Manager+ chooses to close. Then all those who rented kiosks will have a few minutes to get their items out of the chests before the Manager+ will clear the players off all the kiosk protections and the Market will officially be closed.

Why are we suggesting this?
This would offer an alternative to the Emporium and create a way for players to sell items easier, promote players to put more effort into making small little businesses, and keep money flowing in the economy instead of being pumped in by Managers. This offers an alternative to expensive Emporium prices because these prices are determined by the Members+ running the kiosks. It also helps players interact more both with staff and each other.

Hey Survival players!

Today (Sunday May 8th) there will be a scavenger hunt of sorts on Survival! The rules are simple: You are searching for staff! Each selfie you take with a different staff member counts as 1 point. The player with the most points wins 300k Empbucks! The players with the second and third most get 200k and 100k Empbucks respectively. If there's a tie, I'll randomly choose with a number generator and post the winner.

Rules: No selfies with the same staff member more than once, no using past selfies, only you and the staff member should be in the selfie.
A flower must be in every selfie as well! It can either be on the ground, in one of your hands, on the wall, anywhere. There just needs to be a flower in each picture.
Bonus points if you take a selfie with me! 5 points if you find me chillin' at spawn and take a picture with me.

Please post your selfies here, however only make one post. You can edit in additional selfies you take into your first post, but please avoid spamming this topic with replies.  :)

Good luck!

A week ago, I posted a survey link to collect statistics about the SuperFunTime player base. The results are as follows, however please note: Only the first 100 respondent's data was collected (since getting more than 100 requires me to pay) and the results are more indicative of our forum-active players since the survey link was only broadcasted for a few days ingame, and only on Survival.

I've been camping and I've been on holiday. Now, I'm going on Spring Break! You can come too, if you bring the right items.

Click on the links above to see the previous contests.
The goal of this contest is to guess the pattern. There is a pattern in the items I am bringing, something that they all have in common. I'll list a few items I am bringing, and you can reply here in this post with an item you want to bring. If it fits with the pattern, I will like your post. If not, I won't like it. Whenever I check this topic, I'll make a reply so you can see when the last time I checked your responses was.

You can only guess one item at a time. You cannot bring the same item as someone else. You need to bring a total of 4 items with you, so you will need to have 4 liked replies by me to come on Spring Break with me. In order to reply, you must use this format: I'm going on Spring Break and I'm bringing...

If you reply with 4 items that fit my pattern and you forum pm me and tell me the pattern, then you get to come on Spring Break with me and I will give you your prize ingame! If you do guess the pattern, please do not reply and say what it is or tell anyone. The first 5 players to post 4 items and PM me the pattern win.

Ready? I'm going on Spring Break and I'm bringing shampoo, makeup, and a laptop.

Study Corner / Truman Doctrine
Feb 23, 2016, 05:47 AM
"At the present moment in world history nearly every nation must choose between alternative ways of life. The choice is too often not a free one. One way of life is based upon the will of the majority, and is distinguished by free institutions, representative government, free elections, guarantees of individual liberty, freedom of speech and religion, and freedom from political oppression. The second way of life is based upon the will of a minority forcibly imposed upon the majority. It relies upon terror and oppression, a controlled press and radio, fixed elections, and the suppression of personal freedoms. I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free people who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures. I believe that we must assist free peoples to work out their own destinies in their own way. I believe that our help should be primarily through economic stability and orderly political process."
--President Harry S. Truman, March 12, 1947

I am being asked the folling question about the Truman Doctrine, posted above.

"Who is President Truman referring to when speaking of the two different "ways of life?"
My answer would be that he is referring to the communist leaders or the countries being oppressed by communism, however I am uncertain and confused by the entire question in general. Could anyone offer some insight?

Thanks so much. :)

Hello SuperFunTime!

Teaming up with American_Walrus and the EventHost team, I am here to bring back the Design An Event Contest! The old one can be found here. This second contest, however, will be bigger and better!

What is this? This is a contest where players will design their own unique* event.

Who can enter? Any rank can participate, unless you are banned ingame. A forum account is also required to enter. You must be active and have logged in within 1 week of January 1st (or messaged me, Sparkle_Sun, if you are not able to be).

When is this? You may begin building your event any time. It may be an event you already built! You have until December 31 11:59PM (GMT-6) to complete and enter your event.

Where is this? You can build your event wherever you want in worlds 1 and 2 on the Survival server.

When will the events be hosted? We will try to make sure that all the events are hosted in all timezones, a few times, so players get the feel of how they work and how they are played. As soon as an event is entered, it can be hosted. A deadline for when hosting will stop will be determined sometime in early January.

How do I win? You will win if your event makes it past the staff judging process and then receives the most votes by players.

Staff judging: Once your event has been submitted, it will begin to be hosted. During this time, if hosting staff find any errors that do not allow the event to run smoothly, your event may be disqualified or it will be required to be fixed before being eligible to win (ex. Your event is not able to be hosted easily, does not work, breaks the rules listed below, etc). If your event runs fine, then you are eligible to win.

Player voting: This is what will ultimately determine who wins. The eligible events will be entered into a poll at a yet undetermined date, and players will have 72 hours to vote on which event they like the best. The event with the most votes will win! The event with the second largest amount of votes will be the runner-up.

What do I win? 1st place: Your event will be incorporated into World 3 as an official event. In addition, you will receive 1million Empbucks. 2nd place: You will win 500k Empbucks. All prize money is split between the winning teams' members.

How do I enter? Fill out the form below and reply here with all the information included. You must fill out the form completely. No form, no entry.

What are all the rules? How does this work? To enter this contest, you must create a single event, made with up to 2 other players including yourself. Your event must fit the following criteria:

1. Your event must be unique*
2. Your event must be a reasonable size (ex. Not 200x200 blocks)
3. Your event must have an area open for players to warp to while waiting
4. Your event must have a place for players to spectate
5. Your event must have all rules posted on signs in an easy to see area at the event
6. Your event must be playable by all players and ranks, and must be able to be won.
7. Your event must not break any SuperFunTime rules

If it does not meet all those rules, it will not be accepted. You are not allowed to ask for World Edit help in designing your event. However, once you have entered your event, you may request to change block types. You are allowed to use any existing plugins we have on SuperFunTime, but keep in mind that all players must be able to play. You may host your event while it is entered in the contest, but EventHosts have permission to also host without directly consulting you. (*Copying another build means a build with the same exact design, concept, or idea. Modifications (like changing spleef into bedrock spleef) are allowed, but the hosts are allowed to determine that an event idea is too similar to either another existing event in World 3 or another player's build. The host's decision on whether or not a build is too similar or is not original enough is the final decision.)

Form to enter:

In-game username(s):
Rank:
Event name:
Warp to your event:
Event description:
Event rules:
Notes for the host:

Rules are subject to change. Please reply with any questions or concerns so we may solve any problems that arise! Thanks, and happy building!  :)

Study Corner / WWII Flag?
Nov 30, 2015, 01:34 AM
I have to write an essay about propaganda in WWII and the poster I am analyzing is this one:

I cannot figure out what the flag on the far left is, if it is for a country or a political party or whatnot. I identified the flag of Japan and the Nazi flag. It is just the third I cannot figure out. Does anyone know? :o

@Green_Giant
26
Since World 2 is resetting at the end of August (read more here) players are allowed to request some of their builds from that world to be reset. It can be hard for the Managers+ to get to everyone online who is requesting a build move, so you can post here using the following form to request a build move.

The same rules still apply, you may only move one build for free and after that, you must pay the additional fee depending on the size/type of your build. However, if this is your second build or you are requesting your build to be moved as an attraction, please catch a Manager+ ingame instead of posting here. Builds will only be moved if there are requested using the following form:

In-game name:
Warp of build:
Warp of desired new location:
Extra instructions/information:

In order to make moving as smoothly as possible please follow these guidelines:
 • Make sure the new and old warp exist, are spelled correctly and are public.
 • Make sure the old location is in oldworld
 • Make sure the new location is in World2
 • Remove itemframes - these often glitch out!
 • Move items with special properties (names, descriptions etc) by hand before the move.
 • Make sure your protection covers everything and otherwise ask a mod to update it. This makes it easier for the manager.
 • Mention if you have e.g. a basement!
 • After the move, check your protection to see if it covers everything

Edit by Fear:
Please note that it is NOT allowed to claim the move from e.g. a friend. You need to move your buildings according to the rules up there.
The right to transfer buildings can NOT be transferred.
Posts which have been denied, done or were comments have been moved to HERE

Congrats to American_Walrus for winning the contest with his event Run from the Beast!

Ingame voting results are in!
RFTB- 7 votes
Minecart Roulette- 6 votes
Blockparty- 6 votes
Chicken Luck- 5 votes
Tunnels- 2 votes
ParkourFight- 2 votes
Tripwire- 1 vote
These votes are from all the players who played the events. Anyone can now vote here for the final winner out of the top 3 chosen.

What is this? This is a contest, hosted by me and Scotmid, to design a new and unique* event
Who can participate? Anyone of any rank can participate as long as you have a forum account.
When is this going on? You can start designing and building right now! You have until 11:59 on Thursday (GMT-5) to design, build, and post your event right here on the forums. Countdown: http://itsalmo.st/#theendofthecontest
Where is this happening? You can build your event wherever you like (but please follow the guidelines posted below) and it will be moved into an arena for judging.
Why should I participate? The winner will receive 500k empbucks and have their event moved to World 3! The runner-up will receive 200k empbucks.
How does this work? You will design and build your event in-game. Then you will post here using the template at the bottom of this post to register your event. Any events not registered by 11:59 on Thursday will not be counted! Sometime on Friday (time tba) all the registered events will be hosted once for players to see how they work. You can cast a vote ingame during this time of hosting. This will narrow down to the top 3 events and then a poll here on the forums will be created where we will vote for the #1 event! This event will then be moved to World 3.

Rules:
1- Your event must be no longer/wider than 50x50 blocks. It cannot be taller than 50 blocks.
2- Your event cannot be underground. If that is how the design will be, you can build it above ground but inside a dirt square that is 50x50 dirt blocks.
3- Your event cannot be an exact copy of an already existing event we have in World 3*
4- Your event cannot copy the ideas of another registered event*
5- Your event must be playable by all players and ranks
6- Your event must be able to be won
7- Your event must not break any SuperFunTime rules
8- When you register your event, you agree to have it moved to the judging arena (and also moved to World 3 should you win the contest)

Other general information:
You can only register a single event. Once you register your event, you are saying it is completed and able to be moved. Your event may be moved while you are offline. A sign with the new warp to your event will be left in the place it was moved from when your event is moved to the judging arena. Only players who are online during the event hosting process can vote for the initial 3 events that will be put into the poll on the forums no later than Friday night. Voting will occur for about 36 hours (timeframe may change) before a winner will be chosen. Some rules or information may change. If you are banned during the time of the contest and are not unbanned by the end of the contest, your event is not eligible. You can build an event with one other player but you will split the prize money. If you build an event with a player, you cannot have them register the event and you register another. If your name is on an event that is registered, that is the only event you can register.

Please post below with any questions, comments, or concerns so we can fix any issues that might arise. Thanks! And good luck!

For all the owners of fun wands, you now have access again to clone wands!
The commands to use these are as follow:

/spawnwand clone - Allows you to spawn in the clone wand
/changeclone - You type this with a head in your hand and this changes the clone to whoever the head was. However, this consumes the head and certain heads will not work.
/spawnwand clonecannon - Allows you to repeatedly launch clones

If you have not purchased wands, they are on sale alone and you can currently purchase them for $9.38 in the Premium Shop.
