People of SFT, why have you stopped playing?

Curious why people have stopped playing.
I am only interested in personal responses, not guesses/assumptions.
I am interested in genuine feedback, with actionable items rather than ideals and goals which in the real world aren't exactly easy to implement.
I am not interested to hear from banned players.

Hey! Sorry but you don't have permission to view that!

The reasons I may have stopped playing are because:
- I used to grind for sftmmo and adding skills to my tools but we no longer have that cause of mojang and their annoying plugin breaking updates. Maybe get something similar?

- I don't really have much personal stuff to do most of it is volunteer work that I have to finish (such as staffing/architect things) maybe add a questing plugin with its own world with dungeons?

- this is mostly personal but I have been busy irl to be able to play and whenever I get on my computer I'm usually asked if I finished doing stuff such as clean the house, do school work, etc mostly cause I annoy my sister whenever I play or have fun.

I have started to play and work on my autoshop more often though but doing stuff such as quests, treasure hunts, etc in between would make me stay online more often.

Pixelmon: Oof.... there's quite a few reasons like drama that went down but I think even without the drama I probably wouldn't have played for long. That first week of being in VC with people I hadn't talked to for a year or so was amazing but also could feel the frustration hit on certain things like how we had to regrind for the same pokemon we had before reset. Resets are fair cuz the game wasn't able to upgrade with an older version of the pixelmon mod but it's just hard to get back into the grind for perfect stats/natures/moves and even shinies/legends knowing that an update could happen and make the grind obsolete. If I play pixelmon now I'd rather play it single player to ensure that if I loose what I grind for then it's on me.

Survival: Idfk i'd play more if @sky_comet did ;D jokes aside, i'm not good at the basics of survival so I tend to just every bluemoon or so get on to play around with the pyrofishing or mine.

I'm kind of an OG player but due to the amount of times I've lost all my stuff or lost my builds in reset I just lost interest in playing the server. Might play again. :(

- SFTMMO vs mcMMO - There seem to be two sides on SFT, one prefering SFTMMO and one prefering mcMMO. The truth is I still have the sourcecode of SFTMMO, and we could probably make it work again with a bit of time from an experienced dev but, I'm afraid there are two problems:
- We are too small to justify maintaining such a complicated mmo plugin
- There is no clear push from the players to switch back to SFTMMO. A consistent push, meaning the majority should want that at least
- If we get SFTMMO back, we won't be able to maintain it and update it as well as mcMMO is updated, meaning it will be behind on new features and new skills, etc
- The only way to make this really work would be to make SFTMMO an open source project and allow everyone to help with updates and stuff but a) I do not have that kind of rights for the code b) This was really ever designed as a private thing for SFT

Dammit @sky_comet you need to play on Survival and bring all your friends, then survival wouldn't be as empty as it is now :S Pls ? For reals!

Minecraft is a game about surviving and building. It's not a game about living in your minecraft house and keeping everything safe without doing anything adventurous or fun. It's not meant to be a permanent thing, it's meant to be a living, breathing, ever changing thing. Give it another shot and I'm sure you will be captivated by the process of "getting big" all over again!

No time / motivation to play and been busy with another game. The world reset kinda set me off.

I get that but.. there needs to be a world reset for there to be a fresh world we can't just keep adding worlds :S And a reset is an opportunity to start over and return to the part of Minecraft that drew you in first!

True, but for people who have spent hours and hours making a beautiful town, just to lose it in an update
I can why people would get mad and stop playing, and i would know, me and a few friends had a huge town the was named GolemTown, but was deleted in a reset in 2019

I personally just came back to playing (because I was isolated from testing positive for COVID and was SO BORED) and am enjoying my time. Here is why I took a three year break.

:apple: I was burnt out from being staff by the time I quit playing. A couple of things happened while being staff that rubbed me the wrong way, and that did not aid to helping me stay around. Once I was done being staff, I lost my passion for playing on SFT as I had been staff for 2 straight years.
:apple: I went into my last year of high school and first two years of college which was a busy, stressful time that I didn't have the time or energy to log into SFT.
:apple: Not having the time or energy to log into SFT meant most of my builds got BCV'd if I did log in for a couple days, so all of my progress was continually reset which made me not want to log in either.
:apple: Most of my friends who played had also stopped playing because of a lot of drama that was going on, and it made things divisive and uncool to be around.

However, like I said, I have now started playing again (racking up 35 hours last week alone, thanks COVID). Here's why I'm sticking around.
:goldenapple: I really enjoy some of the end-game plugins we offer, like pyrofishing and slimefun, and while I did not get into them before I left or the few times I stuck around for a week, I am challenging myself to do so because I have now come to appreciate just how immersive and technical they can be. I also aspire to get into the top 10 of Reaction, a great plugin, thanks djkirsh.
:goldenapple: The BCV rules have changed so now I don't feel as pressured to continually log in and be active. I also do not have a staff rank/the uptime requirements for Elder/Specialist have changed, and I do not feel pressured to log in/fill a weekly uptime requirement.
:goldenapple: Some of my old-time buddies don't play, but familiar faces are still around and I have enjoyed catching up and seeing them be consistently present (winston_b, omelott, MasterX70, Darren64_NY, Britney1177 to name a few).

One thing that I would like to praise you Towelie, Fear, Dpa, Saywhat, and all the staff teams between 2018-Now is how you have changed your perspective and approach to SFT. I was around when people would FIGHT to get a spot on the survival server; that's how many players would be logged in at once. You needed to show up an hour before a weekend event to even have a chance at playing. But SFT is not that big anymore, and for a while the general attitude was to pretend like we could get back there with a little push and new ideas, but we couldn't because vanilla MC isn't that big anymore. Now, our world sizes are smaller, our BCV rules are longer, and we generally care more about retention then size again. Good job higher-ups, a much needed attitude shift.

1. i play on many dif servers now cuz The world reset I HATE IT i mean i keep lossing all the things i worked on and other example omelot he has SOOOO much money he can save everything he has had and me since i wanna fuel my imagaination i keep buying stuff so i cant save  alot of money and end up not being able to save my builds hence the reason i quit

There hadn't been a reset in years, and we don't plan to do another one in years. We've set the server up so we don't need to do a reset of player bases even if new update comes out with new world gen.
Have a fantastic day!

I guess I could say I'm currently on a break, but initially being less active because
- being on the staff team really just killed my motivation to do anything on survival. Constant drama and bs over the littlest of matters put a sour taste in my mouth
- friends stopped playing because we were all staff together and kept getting beat down by things like that ^
- busy with school, no time to play but also no reason to

I do love all the plugins though, if I were to be more active they're probably the thing I would use the most because they have so many fun, unique things to keep people busy and improve gameplay. I'd say that's what keeps people around the most.

It's kinda embarrassing, minecraft just isn't in my interest any more being 20ish now it kinda just got old, and i lost interest because I done everything in the game I could do. Also I'm focusing more on life stuff. I've kinda played so many years to the point where it is just repetitive and at the end of it idk what to do in the game anymore to entertain myself.
