No matter how bad it turns out it's still better than not happening at all. So I'm gonna give this a chance

I'd say ditching that may be a good idea. Idk about rust.
But I think if you plan on keeping arma 3's server or rusts, you should get someone who know's how it runs. But don't actually own the game or something so there's no chance of it being ruined.
I'm going to put this bluntly, but you clearly have no clue what you're talking about. The ArmA 3 server isn't even released yet so how you have an opinion on that is beyond me. As for the Rust server which is currently being managed by Izzdaer, still gets a few players and it's fairly new to the community. Lastly, to your point about getting someone to run the server but doesn't own the game is the same as having someone run the server with less than 100 hours on the game. They will have no clue what they're doing and how it impacts the players or server. So, I highly recommend you rethink what you just said as it's completely false and irrational.
I'm just saying having someone who knows how to run a server, but won't use things unfairly is important for survival based games. and there'd have to be log checks, and a rule about use of tools. Such as no groups, no favoritism etc.
No one wants a server with bad management.
I know you haven't play Altis Life much, but it's not like DayZ or the ArmA 2 servers we've had in the past. There will be no item spawning, active admining, or whatever on the server I plan to make. The staff team will be decided later down the road but they won't be chosen by favoritism or groups. And, they will not have any additional powers besides kicking unruly players. Essentially, they will be chat moderators who will ensure that the quality of RP on the server is maintained and not like a subpar Wasteland server. As for Rust, there's been lots of issues with admin abuse already, but according to Towelie the person in question has been given an ultimatum and if it happens again they will be replaced.
No active admining then? Well RIP. And plan to make? Idk if it's set in stone yet. Either way i seriously don't think it'll go anywhere due to past experiences of issues. But yeah, I'd wait to say things til it's set in stone.
I say no 'active admining' loosely since I've had poor experiences on servers where admins choose to use/abuse their powers to influence RP. And, I can tell you firsthand that it sucks. Of course, Admins will be able to spectate players through RCon and report anything necessary. But, I'm trying to keep away from the whole let's ban first, and ask questions later mentality.
At any rate, you're entitled to your opinion that the server won't go anywhere but you're still more than welcome to play once it's released.

+Fixed the server, plugins now load
+Added CheatPunch anticheat from Rust makers
+Nerfed C4 damage and radius (damage by 50% and radius by 25%)
+Added antiofflineraid (reduces damage to buildings of offline players - it has a cooldown so players won't be able to quit to avoid being raided). This does not completely disable raiding of offline player just makes it slightly harder
Quote from: Jyncs on May 19, 2016, 08:21 PMWhy add nerfing to the C4 and anti offline raiding protection?
That is just part of Rust.
I don't agree with these changes but I accept them.

Quote from: BattleAxium on May 19, 2016, 07:23 AMQuote from: Towelie on May 19, 2016, 07:02 AMI do but that can get tiring fast. I appreciate constructive criticism now and then but being told you're stupid every other day can make you hate it xD
In further news the #1 problem Rust is facing with right now is cheating. I've seen multiple people having loads of c4, tons of weapons and ammo in a really short game time, raiding everyone and ruining their fun.
I have added two anticheat systems today and we'll see how that works out, if not I guess we'll need to find a better sollution.
This cheating that I'm talking about made @Dpa1991 quit the game and give up on it.
I would hate for rust to turn into Factions 2.0 with cheaters and stupid bullshit personal drama.
I haven't really played much so I didn't even notice cheating lol. And I'm not sure there's even enough players to have drama. So, not sure how it's Factions 2.0. But, all the plugins seem to be off.

Also, I want to start an ad campaign for rust. We're not doing so well on revenue and we barely got a dnation in the last 10 days but I want this to succeed as we cannot survive if we base ourselves just on Minecraft.
Do try to add some donation items to Rust as well, Try to have a goal to make about ~$50 / mo for now.
Not trying to put you guys down here, but you're competing with lots of well-established Rust servers, so you'll need to develop unique content in order to get people to stick and play. For instance, custom loot, a better way to handle sleepers, starter kits etc. Otherwise, you'll be fighting with 1000s of bigger servers. Anyways, I'm not welcomed here so I won't bother playing but just figured I would give a suggestion. Good luck and have fun.
