If you want to mess around with 1.9 on a completely vanilla and fresh map the ip is: games.superfuntime.org:1344

Remember this has no plugins and probably won't stay around too long so don't build anything you want to keep!

Is the server still premium-only?

Yes, it would be. SFT only hosts premium-only servers (to my knowledge anyway).

Yes, it would be. SFT only hosts premium-only servers (to my knowledge anyway).
