Just an update, everything is doing terrible.
Revenue is at an all-time low, so are votes, and ad clicks (I mean we made bloody $10  in a month) and people seem to have stopped sharing SFT with their friends / on social media.
At this rate, we will go extinct for sure.

It seems like everyone just stopped caring and decided it's too much of a hassle to /vote daily on all the websites, click on /ad and /buy if possible... Even after receiving countless of hours of entertainment (which by the way come at the expense of a lot of hours of work from a lot of people) that doesn't seem to make a difference.

I'm dissapoitned and somewhat worried.

This post does not represent the official views of Super Fun Time, it represents my personal views.

It stops being an opinion when it's a fact, it's just not a fact everyone wants to face.

I really wish there is more I can do, I vote daily and I would really love to donate, but I cannot at the moment. Trust me, I would donate if I could. Is there anything you can do to lower the cost of maintaining the server? I'm sure you've already thought of all that, just trying to help. Also, I don't really have any friends who would care to play on SFT, my brother does play on it though. Anyways, I'm always trying to help out as much as I can with trying to make the community a better one, a more inviting one to which new players would want to stay. :)

American_Walrus

I will be buying things soon, whatever I can afford. I've started making some money recently, I will also put some aside for buying public fly.

About voting, the whole "vote for events" thing just doesn't work. People either despise voting or don't care enough for events to vote, and I think it's the first one.

If you guys do not want SFT to die, which you do not, vote. Buy if you can. Tell anyone about it.

We so passionately love SFT and spend time on here, but we don't spend 2 minutes a day to help it. I'm guilty of this too. I will be promoting voting more and more.

Towelie

I've already lowered the cost from $850 to $700 / month and we'll lower it even more.

I told everyone about the server. They are now all playing and they love it. They also all want to donate. I don't think this server is going to die.

When prison arrives, alot of people will play (old players). Also if there is a donator options that will bring in a lot of money

American high schools are preparing for exams in a few weeks. After that more people should be playing during the summer. Summer is the best time to build a player base so now is the best time to work on changes.

This plus the fact that a lot of high schools and other schools are getting out this coming Thursday or the week after. Playerbase should greatly increase starting very soon.

Doctor_Thanos

@Towelie this has been quite a bad period for SFT but bear in mind its Exam time! Summer is on its way and soon the playerbase will radically increase! I will personally try to come up with as many ideas as possible to help! :)

GRIMI_

Chill out towelie, its a bad time of year every year because people are busy with exams. I'd suggest also calming down advertising for a bit because it is much less effective if everyone who its targeted at is too busy, and starting it back in peak season(summer) or when prison comes back to jumpstart that server.

Cireshie

Focus on survival/pix/bteam.

I hear about Qwest, WildWest, and Rust, but at this moment, no one's on either of those servers.
The main issue I hear from you is money. What's the point of focusing on those servers if they're not set up to make money?

Once SFT is more stable financially, then I find it alright to work on Qwest, Wildwest, or Rust.

Honestly, Minecraft isn't what it used to be. Nothing you can do will change that. Mojang just doesn't care about their playerbase and are only in it for the money now. I say we close off all the Minecraft servers that aren't big and steer our focus towards game servers like Rust, Altis Life, etc. There's lots of monetization opportunities on those servers and barely any left on Minecraft due to the EULA. Even if we try to emulate those popular minigame servers, we really can't compete with them. They have twice the size of our dev team and can pump out fresh content faster than us. That's just the harsh reality of what Minecraft is now and what it will be in the future.  It's about damn time we move on to bigger and better games.

Altis life seems like it's going to be cancelled due to lack of people willing to work on it and expenses (as opposed to other servers, we rented a server for it and we gotta pay bills for it).
However Rust and Garry's Mod TTT will be prioritized soon with @Izzdaer managing Rust and @Dpa1991 helping with Rust administration (as well as @saywhat2365 and @UrbanmineR managing Gmod TTT)

Alright, well I suggested I would help run Altis Life initially but you ignored me and went with getting Excon and Izzdaer. So, that's on you. But, everything else seems good.

On Pe There used to be like 15-25 ppl on now there is 5-15 players ,There is no Donateors On pe I will try and vote Daily

GotAnError

I recently donated quite a bit and donated in the past.

I literally vote everytime I am on. I just can't be on everyday.

I don't tell people about SFT because I know they find Minecraft to be childish. It is pointless for me to tell them.

Everytime I vote, I shout /vote in chat to make other people do the same.

A person can only do as much as is in his/her power to do so.

I hope more people will realise that SFT needs help and start putting in some work!
Screw the modern world! Our lovely earth is flat, ask the Medieval men!

IPwnCreeps

From what I've been told the Rust server isnt going to have donations, only a patreon. You could easily have donator packs for commands like /sil, /skin or other visual commands. I honestly wouldn't mind if you made items or resources available for donation, you obviously need the money.

/sil allows you to look at a sign and paste an image link onto said sign.
Ex: /sil https://i.gyazo.com/ea9682f2577c5b768e77f04c71c30061.png
Then that picture would appear on the sign.
The command is actually already on the server as I believe it comes with oxide, it would just require you to set the permissions to whatever donator rank you'd create. (It's currently admin only)

CallOfTheElements

I think we need to focus on survival and pix, as our player base is being divided by smaller servers. As for donations, we really just need more incentive.

Pookalton

Towelie, I wish I donate I really do, but I just can't afford it. Even though I have been inactive for a long time, I still love this server as I have made so many new friends.

I'm sorry that I can't donate, but I do plan on returning when W2 resets, so I will start voting again. I've already clicked on a few ads whenever I am occasionally on. Best of luck Tow, :)

Brightpkz

I would donate but honestly, I can't because a donation for say 10 USD charges me for 40 because of "processing fees" and if I know my money isnt going to sft but instead going to a big corp... I don't know how comfortable I am with it.

Thats really not what we need to do. Minecraft isn't the huge revenue machine it used to be, as stated several times before. While Survival and Pix are one of the only hopes of maintaining any revenue on minecraft, more donation incentives can't just be pulled out of a hat. Moving on to games such as Rust, Arma 3 etc will allow SFT to generate revenue without a greedy EULA hovering over us.

He meant the processing fees, 30 dollar of the 40 he would have to spend would be a fee going to a big corporation, and the other 10 would goto SFT.

Yes, we understand that. But what we do not is why you're paying $30 in processing fees? What payment method are you using?
To add to this;
I'll buy a rank and donating re-occurring $50 a month tomorrow.

I'll be inclined to add cosmetic perks and stuff to the premium shop. Can you suggest some plugins that allow us do to that ?
As for selling resources I'd rather keep the playing field even so maybe cosmetic stuff like hats and in general things that don't ruin the game balance.

If I could, I would donate. However, my dad won't let me/my brother donate real money to an online server cuz he thinks that it's a waste of money... So I'm screwed.

Also, I haven't really voted a lot recently however my bf does vote whenever he's online.

And, about the ads- they take forever to load and when it does load, the add doesn't play and therefore I don't get any rewards... Not sure if this has been fixed or not

Arias0

Could be because you have AD Block or some other sort of software. If not, must be a server issue I suppose @PandaPugz

Can't fix that as it's not on my end. IT's on the ad provider's end.
