Recruiting Youtubers

For anyone thinking about doing this -
• Use a good recording software. eg- Fraps.
• Don't use text as your way of communication - Viewers want to watch the video, not always read.
• Follow up: Use your voice! (Unless it's a showcase with no communication)
• Although not needed, it's nice to have some background music! (Make sure it's not going to get copyrighted).
• Make sure you have a decent FPS rate, no one wants to see an ultra laggy video.
• Make sure you keep the viewer entertained. Always have ideas before the video that will keep them watching.
• Have fun, don't feel like this is mandatory. Making videos is something you should ENJOY doing.

I just want to make a slight change to this, I would not suggesting using Fraps, fraps cuts FPS in half almost which for a lot of the people playing on laptops can be very content damaging. I would recommend using OBS, it's free too and easily records videos, may take a youtube video to show you how to do it and set it all up but it's very easy to use.

Plays.TV - If you're an AMD CPU user, Plays.TV comes installed with the graphics driver (optional) this automatically records gameplay from any game which you are playing (links with steam account and riot accounts too) overall a decent video recording software. (be careful with this one, uses up a hell of a lot of memory if you play on lots of different games as it literally records anything.)

I would say don't go all out on equipment unless you're planning on building your YouTube channel fully to be a proper gaming channel. It sounds harsh but it's incredibly difficult to get a YouTube channel started with lots of subscribers etc. If you have £300 lying around feel free to get a proper video capture box/card, and sony vegas pro or some form of editing software, but don't waste your money. There's plenty of free software to edit etc.

Does SFMs count? I'm practicing Source Film Maker, and I'll see what minecraft models i can get my hands on. No promises on when I can start making SFT stuffs but it's in the to-do list.
