[Survival] World1 Reset Announcement

World1 is being reset!
There is no exact estimate but it is at least 1 month away.
At this time we are not transferring builds but a post will be made within ~2 weeks regarding that.

Exact World1 reset date -> When 1.11 is out + a week


PS: Also vote in the poll -> Should we offer the current World1 as a download after the reset?
I generally am against that because I worry players may start servers with the world, but let's face it... you don't play on SFT because of the world, you play because of the community, custom plugins and friendly staff.
Fear worked a lot on modelling this world after America and I think it's a rather unique and special world, which would be nice to have in your single player for when you are feeling a bit of nostalgia.

Note: I STRONGLY RECOMMEND writing down the coords of your builds!!!
It never hurts to know them.
Also do note I don't know when 1.11 will be released, could be 1 month, could be 3 months.
I just want to have the announcement done so I can just reset when the update comes as that is the best time to reset.
I will provide some sort of access to the current world 1 for up to 3 more months after the reset on a separate server

I feel having the world available for download may please a lot of players because of the nostalgia they might feel seeing their builds and it's uniqueness surely makes it worthy to have in singleplayer.

Is there an way to remove your builds to another world?  I really don't wanna lose all my builds that I payed and spend my time on. And also do we have to pay for it to remove our builds?

You will be allowed to move builds, yes.

Why are we having an update when the current World 1 isn't even close to being at full capacity?

I mean look at it:



It's probably about 30-50% full, and that's just talking about the land itself.

I just feel as if there is no need to reset and make players have to move all of their builds. I also feel like since SFT is experiencing a lower player turnout, this would only make things worse, and cause people to not want to come back. I know that if this does happen, a lot of work that I put into my builds (which I have just build because we just had a reset) and it would be totally unfair to have to move them all over again. Let's just keep this world for at least 6 months longer, until we can actually see that it's filling up.

Also @omelott alerted me to something: There is literally nothing built in World 2. It's completely desolate, meaning that if this world were to be removed now, it would either take up all of the space on World 2, or it would just be a disaster overall. Take a look for yourself.


Sorry about it being spotty, the DynMap hasn't generated fully yet for me.

I believe the world reset is for potential new generations? Could be wrong, I only know of fossils in the new update.
