We are struggling with getting new players

We are struggling with getting new players.
This doesn't just include the retention rate (how many players which visit our servers actually stay), but actually the numbers of new joins / day.

We desperately need your help with that!
- Invite your real life friends to our server
- Share our server on any social media page and any site where allowed
- Make YouTube videos if you are a youtuber about our server and community
- Vote and donate! The amount of votes we are getting is too low because some people are too lazy and they don't realize what a massive difference would be for us if more people voted

Other ways to fix this:
- Pay a SEO specialist anywhere between $1000 and $3000 to optimize our site for google search / search engines / etc. Not possible
- Invest at least ~$200 / mo in advertising. Not possible unless donations increase
- Maintain a better presence on Facebook/Twitter/Other social media networks - @Katherine  - hit me up and let's have a talk about this when you have time. you can help here.

I still suggest we expend our horizons towards more games/modpacks; hell, I'd be willing to do it. Maybe try expanding our steam group a bit to encourage 'steamers' to try a server of ours. I also noticed that there are no third-party advertisments on the SFT page-this could bring in a little spare change that is desperately needed. Plus aside from that, I could devise many ideas to help. And, I'm sure many others would be glad to join in.

Whens the faction server coming on? I had many friends years ago who played factions on SFT with me and they quit because factions died, so Ill contact them and tell them to join again

Upcoming servers will help, as well as putting website links on non minecraft servers. Dst gets quite a few brand new players each day, but as the night comes will join back after. Leaving the link up will get more people to notice the website and join other servers.

I believe Factions may actually help the situation a lot!

Another point to consider is getting on with removing Parkour. I have been trying to show people around but many times they end up in the parkour server and they leave due to it being dead. I highly recommend we get on with this and more people than just the Architect team are more than willing to help with this.

Have tried Gmod before and it was quite good on the SFT ttt server but that died towelie tried to make other gmod servers prop hunt, ttt, but it never got played on.

I agree but I think bringing it back without doing it properly would be even worse than not having it at all,so time care and attention needs to be spent doing it well and not rushing it out because of the hype around it right now

I honestly doubt this...this community can't handle it. There's way too much whining and complaining when people actually play the game the way it's supposed to be played. Many because a lot treated it as a social server that you could do whatever you wanted to on (no offense or anything but the staff enforced literally nothing) rather than as a factions server. And honestly if about 90% of the previous rules aren't removed and rules such as no cheating or whining are actually enforced then I seriously doubt anything will change.

Biggest of all it'd have to be on nothing higher than 1.8 to be actually playable.

Yes but it would need staff members that ACTUALLY PLAY factions, not just random staff from other servers.  As well it doesn't need many rules other than no cheating, the biggest problem it had before was too many unnecessary rules.

Agree with basically everything @BluetigerESW just said whilst multi staffing and spreading staff considered as some of the best in general to other servers Is great I  think for factions to work the staff team and staff rules are going to have to be managed carefully as it will be very different to the way other servers are run.

And On the prison subject last I saw on the forums it wasn't still being worked on so it's a bit shitty to hear it being referred to as having " tanked " already :/

I think honestly is that we need to branch out to other games to try to see if we can get anywhere out of that.

Some ideas such as

Rocket League (making a group and playing as a team)
Lego Worlds (if multiplayer is possible there)
Planet Explorers
Guns of Icarus
Gang Beasts

even Gmod or TF2 would not be bad ideas to find ways to make things fun and committing

but since players are used to it if they now get banned over it (breaking rules) they might just leave too
