MC 1.8.6
Survival was updated to MC 1.8.6 to fix a very serious exploit that allowed users to run OP level commands via books and hacked clients. No plugins seem to be broken so far.

ColesyM added a new feature to SFTMMO! Powerup Tokens that you can buy from the XPShop (/xps list and /xps buy 13).
How to use them; You craft the token and the item you want to apply the powerup to together.
The tool goes in the middle slot, and the token on the right slot, after the item.

[The idea]

The idea
The idea is to give players a goal to play and still enjoy themselves, even after maxing out all their stats, and becoming rich.
I've picked up this idea from the popular 'Call of Duty' game series. It's a feature named 'Prestige' which allows players to reset their ranks, and instead gain a 'Prestige' badge. This badge doesn't award the player anything other than the so-called 'bragging rights'

How it's going to happen on Survival
- When a player maxes out all their SFTMMO stats, they will ask an Admin to Prestige
- The admin will first reset their SFTMMO skills via a SFTMMO command (/prestige <playername))
- The admin will take the cost of prestige (not yet determined, working idea is 1 million per prestige level, after the first prestige which will be free). So for example, to level up from prestige 30 to prestige 31, they will pay 30 million EmpBucks and all their SFTMMO skills reset. To level up from prestige 1 to prestige 2, they will pay 1 mil. empBucks
- The admin then modifies their prefix so that it shows the number of prestiges. Example -> [1][Owner]TowelieDOH for a player with Prestige 1 (0 will not be shown as a number)
- The player will then start over, and so on.

Detailed Prestige Pricing:
Prestige 1 (0 -> 1) -> FREE
Prestige 2 (1 -> 2) -> 1 mil EmpBucks
Prestige 3 (2 -> 3) -> 2 mil EmpBucks
Prestige 4 (3 -> 4) -> 3 mil EmpBucks

Apart from this, as a requirement, to prestige, you will have to have all SFTMMO skills maxed out.

PS: We are aware that after a certain amount of prestiges, it becomes very very expensive. This is intended, as we don't want everyone just jumping to Prestige 99, right away. We want this to be an indicator of awesomeness xD that is hard to achieve.

PS: We're almost ready to release the Prestige system. So probably up to 3 more days until it's enabled.

[My Idea:]

So, I was thinking of ways to keep things fresh on our Survival server, and I thought about the following thing:

Prestige levels!

I'm not sure whether you played Call of Duty, but if you did, when you reached the maximum level, you had the option to get your 'Prestige' rank. This basically reset all your stats but added a special badge containing the number of times you 'Prestiged'.  So basically, bragging rights.


My Idea:
- Add 'Prestige' on Survival. In the form of a number in front of your rank: [1][Owner]TowelieDOH <-- Example
- To gain a Prestige level, you would have to have all SFTMMO stats maxed up, and pay an EmpBuck amount (5mil?). Once you prestige, your SFTMMO skills will be reset to 0, but you will gain a number in front of your name, that increases every time you prestige.

Every now and then, I will see a complaint on the forums about a Staff issue.
Generally these reports sound like this: 'I asked <something> and then I got banned by a JMod".

When you first look at the title of such a thread, you immediately start thinking that the JMod who banned the player for asking something is  well... stupid and has no place being in the staff team.
Sadly, that is the truth in some cases (very rarely though).

However, most of the times, what happens is: People act like smartasses. They ask the same question 100 times, and even when asked to stop, they don't. They continue harassing the staff member in this manner, and don't stop even after getting several verbal warnings.

Latest example - today: GRIMIGAMING. When I initially saw grimi's post about how he got banned for calling a Mod a name she did not like, I instantly thought about demoting said Mod, as I thought this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

However, when I further looked, and did some digging. I have found out that GRIMI had been calling Katherine a name she did not like. But instead of stopping, when she asked him nicely to, he proceeded doing so, even after several verbal warnings and a kick. He continued doing so, knowing it annoyed her and that she disliked being called that.

This, is what I call being a smartass. It's deliberately provoking staff members, and then going on the forums and complaining, in a way that makes you look like the victim and the staff member in question, the bully.

As of this moment, anyone exhibiting behavior such as this, will only achieve one thing: Double their punishment. Say a player got banned for an hour, then complains about something like this. We will first investigate this issue (via logs, or the statements of higher ranked staff members present at the time). If it turns out the players are right, we will take action (that can mean from warning to demotion of the said staff), however, if what the player reported is not true, and it's obvious he was just trying to flamebait / be a smartass, we will double the player's punishment.

Obviously, this will not apply to permanent bans because, well.. they are already permanents. What it does apply to: temporary bans, untrusted time, and so on.

VERY IMPORTANT DISTINCTION: The doubling of someone's punishment can only be done with a manager's agreement. To minimize cases of false punishments, we will have each such case, checked by a Manager+.

- New prices: Rent is 100 emp * plots (used to be 250 * plots)
- Nation rent is 200 emp * plots (used to be 1000 * plots)

After consulting with the other Owners, we have decided to discontinue the Garry's Mod Server.
It seemed like the right thing to do, rather than continue to advertise a broken and disfunctional server.

[How things are going:]

This is just a post that I like to post once or twice every year, to explain the state of SFT, and how we see things (the owners) and what's going on.


How things are going:
- Financially, things are working out. The premium shop income has been a bit lower than usually for the past few months, but we can still cover our costs, so that's not a big problem
- Votes are currently a problem. People aren't voting a lot any more and this is affecting us a lot worse than you could think.
- Playerbase is a bit low, but this is to be expected for this time of the year, seing as everyone's either in school/working/etc. We expect things to get better once the summer vacation comes.
- Forum activity is a bit low compared to previous years
- Drama is at an all time low compared to previous years and we like it this way.
- The Survival server could use either a partial or a full reset but I am a bit scared to how the community would react to this so maybe it's wise to use this thread as a probe xD. I wanted to make a poll but polls are broken so this would be impossible until we  migrate to the new forums

What we'd like:
- More votes. The number of votes we receive is directly linked to our position in voting sites and the number of players that discover our server. If you enjoy SFT, even the slightest, please try to vote daily, on all of the voting sites. For you, it's a couple of minutes spent clicking some links (which brings you a reward too), for us it's a big help and it keeps SFT alive.
- Word of mouth is the best method to keep a community popular. Tell your friends about SFT, post on your facebook/twitter/etc if you wish and basically just spread the word about SFT (but don't advertise on other servers)


What we're working on:
- Updating our forums and upgrading our forum software to the latest version. (FearThe1337)
- Preparing 1.8 update for Pixelmon (Dpa1991)
- Working on a new modpack called Vanilla Powered (Dpa1991, TowelieDOH)
- A plugin that will replace the ChestShopLogger plugin (/shop find buy) (Donnydoom604)
- A Factions reset (saywhat2365)
- Tweaking towny prices / settings so that more players are attracted to it and using it (TowelieDOH)
- Various tweaks/fixes and improvements for B-Team (Copen6199, Fearthe1337)
- A replacement for Survival's World3  - a better laid out world with more minigames (EventHost Team)
- Probably more stuff that I'm forgetting right now


So yeah, this is what's going on with SFT, in case you were wondering, things are working normally and the waters are calm. I'm really looking forward for the forum upgrade.

[Changes:]

I made some changes today, which should hopefully further promote usage of our Towny world. Prices have been lowered, some even more than half!

To play Towny, join our Survival server (mc.superfuntime.org) and type /playtowny

Changes:
+ Increased price to create a nation to 1mil
- Decreased price to create a new town to 100k (half of wh at it was)
- Decreased price to create an outpost to 20k (was 50k)
- Reduced the max. tax a player can pay to 5% or 50k (mayors set taxes, this is just a hard limit to how much they can charge)
- Reduced nation upkeep from 50k to 1k (the price was in error)
- Reduced town upkeep from 500emp * number of chunks to 250emp * number of chunks (a 20 chunk town (big one) will pay 5k emp / day)

Some time next week our forums are going to be upgraded and their look is changing.
There might be some problems during the transition, but we guarantee, it will be worth it.

We have added Minesweeper on Survival!
It's a gambling minigame in which you earn money by discovering emeralds. You can either cash it out when you win some money, or try again. However, if you try again and you get a TNT, you will lose all your money that you bet with

Usage: /gamble <16-39> <amount_to_bet>

The 16-39 represents the difficulty (how many TNT blocks are present in the grid, so lower number = less difficult but less money, higher number more difficult but more money won)

Because our Towny World is currently extremely under-used (3 towns with a total of 19 players), I have decided to drastically reduce the prices, to encourage more towns being started and more players taking part

- Starting a new town now costs 200k EmpBucks (used to cost 500k)
- Daily town tax now costs 500 EmpBucks * Number of chunks (used to be 1500)
- Dying in the towny world doesn't cost you anything
- Teleporting to your town's spawn (via /towny spawn) is now free


Reminder: In order to use Towny commands (to start a town or invite players to your town) you have to be in World4 (you can get there via /w4 or /playtowny)
