Oh if you get video your too close.

Stay safe everyone.
Everyone in Florida is too close. No place to run except north and who wants to get stuck on the interstate and highways.

Quote from: Dpa1991 on Sep 08, 2017, 03:07 PMWinds are expected to be 90+ too, we're already flooded here though so anything from the hurricane will just be more flooding..

E:Just checked the map, that predicted line is about exactly the same distance from me as it is from you
Problem is it keeps shifting more and more west which sucks for you
30
The good news is that by the time it reaches us up here we will only have winds of about 90mph

Not for sure what they will be where you are dpa but you are only 2 hours away.

Dpa has more to worry about from flooding than I do
31
This is going to be fun

32
Good luck my fellow Floridian.

I think I will be closer to the eye of the storm than you will be unless it shifts west once again.

Quote from: BoostedMk4 on Aug 29, 2017, 02:02 AMWe all know the real reasoning for this is because players have been making money from SFT but SFT Donations are not to be seen and the piggy bank is starting to get empty ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The most likely case is this has become a recent problem which gives the need to the rule.

I have been around for almost 7 years now with the community. The rules 7 years ago was "Don't be a dick, don't cheat". Since then all the other rules of the community have been added because of the actions of others of the community.

Rules are only in place because someone tries to do something they should not be doing, in this case scamming.

Yep, the idea is to keep it on the front page / in the first position, that's why I keep remaking it.

I don't think that people realize that without donations, this place could shut down. Without donations Towelie is on the hook to pay all the bills. The man's gotta eat and live too so it would be a matter of months before all of this glory would end.
I personally think people know but not everyone has the money to donate or maybe they have other reasons not to (just my thought) but yea maybe there's like a few who for some reason don't realize it and good on you for pointing it out x3

I know there is a lot that cannot, and that's ok. I cannot all the time and that's ok. But every little bit helps when people can to help keep the community coming. I just wanted to let everyone know that without donations it all falls on Towelie.

Quote from: Stoovs on Nov 11, 2016, 03:46 AMThe only reason, as a Canadian, that I would prefer that Trump wasn't the President is simply because one of the first things he wants to do is look at the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) which could be damaging to the Canadian economy, as if it isn't hurting enough already.

That and the fact that Canada doesn't really support a Republican party. All of our political parties are left wing, some more central then others, obviously.

I am actually for this. Sorry. But it has been shown that trade from Canada and Mexico to the US has increased while trade leaving the US has declined a lot. What this means is we are importing more goods for us to consume than us exporting. If we are not exporting goods then we are not manufacturing goods, if we are not manufacturing goods then we are not gaining/keeping jobs.

I am fully against Trump for who he is as a person and the way he has depicted himself, but I do like some of the ideas he has planned to complete within his first 100 days. We have another pacific something or other trade agreement which also hurts us as a country.

I have personally seen the results of our manufacturing jobs leaving the country. My home town was thriving 30K population town. I can think of 3 major factories(Television plant, Chevy/GMC plant, and a glass factory) not including the smaller factories and companies that helped to support those. Lots of general labor jobs making decent money at the time. After Nafta I told people the jobs would leave and they didn't believe me or thought it would be a good thing to try and build up Mexico's economy and it would help ours. One by One 2 of the 3 major factories left. Glass factory is gone because it was cheaper to make these products elsewhere, TV factory left because it was cheaper to make them elsewhere. GM Plant stayed but no one was retiring/leaving the company(and still do not) because it is all there was left. My home town then fell fast. Now it still has 30K people, but no jobs, no jobs means people had to find more ways to support their families. Crime increased and now it is not safe to live there any longer.

So I really disagree with Nafta and do wish it gone. I hate that it would hurt other countries, but we also need to look to help ourselves first before we help others.Which is partially why Trump won, the middle class feels like it is getting ignored by the status quo and wanted to show politicians that we need change.

Quote from: iLaxrv10 on Nov 10, 2016, 09:53 PMhow about instead of whining and crying about it we give the guy a chance?

Agreed. Can we just put this topic to rest? No one here is right or wrong.

The election is what it is and whether you like it or not Donald J. Trump is our next president.

I said this same thing. I don't like it but I respect my country's democracy.

Hopefully we have been respectful in this entire thread(at least I think we have) so this is a positive.

And for all of you who just want complain look at the positive. Yes he said some hateful, bigoted, racist things. We all know it. But over half the country(following the popular vote here) voted against that. 50 years ago I don't think it would have been as close as it is. This is progress in a way. Lets be optimistic.

Quote from: ochoaj on Nov 10, 2016, 01:53 AMAnd to clarify, I am fucking tired of people saying that undocumented immigrants are "lazy who live off of welfare", but if you'd take the time to you know, DO RESEARCH, you would find that they are a massive portion of our agricultural work force, economy, etc. They also pay over $12,000,000,000 (yes, that's $12 billion) in state and local taxes. To add onto that, undocumented immigrants can't even receive welfare. The only benefits they receive is basic healthcare and a free K-12 education for their children.

So much truth to this. I work on a very popular software that deals with Affordable Housing. You cannot get affordable housing for HUD/USDA funding without either a Social Security Number, Alien Registration Number or a USDA number. It's against Government rules. HUD will not pay for rent for someone who does not have an SSN number. There are even rules to pay back rent if a person(s) lie about their income and make more than they do in order to get lower rent.

Tax credit is a different story though, you don't need a SSN to receive Tax Credit as a company/person who run's rentals. There are income limits though to receive this Tax Credit. That being said the Tax Credit is for those that own the properties, not the renters and they see no benefits for it. There are over 104 different types of tax credits. Each state has at least 2 different kinds and some counties within that state have their own in metropolitan areas.

Income Limits: https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/il/il2016/select_Geography.odn

I have also lived in Kentucky where outside of the major cities all there is really only farm work and small factories scattered here and there. I have never seen any of Trump's main demographic (White Males) in the fields working. I instead have only seen those that might be here illegally or legally Hispanics working in the fields. Why? Because it's hard work with little pay. Farmers don't make much so they have to pay little to the help they get. With legal people screaming about wanting $15 minimum wage across the country(which is no way needed, Kentucky is cheap living) why would they want to work for $5 an hour?

There are a lot of things that need fixed and it is going to be an uphill battle and not as easy as some people think it will be in order for Trump to have a successful presidency. Obama has had some hard battles during his presidency. Some have worked out some have not worked out as they were intended to because people just hated it because of the divide we have in this country.

Quote from: Jyncs on Nov 09, 2016, 07:29 PMI received handouts. When I lost my job under the Bush administration I could not find another job. I moved to go to college and when I did have a job I was making 20k a year and still had 30K a year bills. I received medicare and food stamps. I'm not ashamed. I needed them and they worked and did their part.

Now I am making way more since I completed college(even though I have college debt) all because of those handouts. I'm sorry but they work. They may not work for all but they do work.

I'm happy that you used the handouts to get back or on your feet. Sadly you are apart of a small amount of people that used them and then took care of themselves. I'm more referring to those that receive the handouts and NEVER get off of them. The ones that have children strictly for the benefits.

aka the immigrants that come here illegally (not the ones that come and earn their stay) that we pay for because theyre either too lazy to work or just know we wont ever stop their benefits/kick them out. that's the people that are getting the handouts ruining us not the people that ACTUALLY need them

If either of you would like to post sources of said information and statistics please do. Otherwise you are just gossiping.

For me I would rather help my fellow countryman. I know some will take advantage however there are a lot like myself who needs help so the can get better. Every illegal immigrant I have personally known has come here to work, not to live off of anyone. The ones I have personally known would do the jobs that others who complain there are no jobs refuse to do because it is difficult hard labor. That doesn't mean they are not out there but I just don't think it is as wide spread as you might think it is. Prove me wrong with facts though.

Anyone who thinks we will become the industry nation we once was are sadly mistaken. Even a businessman like Trump knows that you make things as cheap as you can get by with and then sell them for a lot more money to make profit. Bringing industry back to America would mean a higher cost to produce these items because of the higher labor cost. A higher cost to produce will mean a higher selling cost.

It is going to be a tough balance with the economy and what he wants to do. President Elect Trump has to face some difficult decisions and one I don't wish on anyone so I wish him good luck on it.

All I can ask is that there is some class behind those who supported him and not gloat about winning. That is no way to bring our country together but only cause a stronger divide between everyone.

Quote from: Towelie on Nov 09, 2016, 06:19 PMThere is at least some good from this : The Republicans control congress and they won't want Trump killing any chance they have to have a Republican president elected next term so they should do a good job of keeping him in control.

Let's face it, the guy is a buffoon, the guy is completely inappropriate and not president material, but he did build a multi billion dollar empire and those don't get built by being stupid.

He has filed for bankruptcy at least 3x. Many of his business fail and some contractors report they never got paid for his failures. His father gave him his money to start his businesses. This guy has never had to work as a middle class person but suddenly is suppose to represent the middle class.

Like I said before though, I get it. People want change from what has been the status quo for some time. I do to, but I just do not think he was the right person for it.

Quote from: blakus87 on Nov 09, 2016, 01:59 PMExactly why I also voted for Trump. This needed to happen this country is/was going downhill in a hurry and the reason why is becuase of all the handouts and hand holding that the democrats have done for the last 8+ years.

I received handouts. When I lost my job under the Bush administration I could not find another job. I did my part to try and not get him in there.

I get it though, people wanted change from the status quo. Even I want a change from out of touch candidates. However I don't think that this was the right candidate for that change.

That being said, come January 20th, 2017 I will address him as President Trump for the rest of his life because our democracy has voted him in. I respect my country and this is who the majority of the country has chosen.

Lets just see how this plays out now.

USA History right here on Abraham Lincoln, our 16th president who helped to abolishslavery in my country.
Failed in business.
Ran for state legislature - lost.
Sought to become speaker of the state legislature - defeated.
Sought to become elector - defeated.
Ran for Congress - lost.
Ran for re-election to Congress - lost(he won in between losses).
Sought the job of land officer in his home state - rejected.
Ran for Senate of the United States - lost.
Sought the Vice-Presidential nomination at his party's national convention - get less than 100 votes.
Ran for U.S. Senate again - again he lost.
Elected president of the United States.

He lost a lot more than he won. The point is if we don't keep trying and don't keep pushing we won't know.

This is the second time we have had a Rust server and it is starting to grow and succeed. We just don't know what will take off and what won't all the time until we try it.

Good analogy Jyncs! We shouldn't have problem with trying the same server idea BUT we shouldn't try to make it the same way every time (unless it worked). For example, 7 days to die, we had that server a few times, but each time it was put up, it was abandoned by management. As Albert Einstein said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results". In this case, we're setting up the server (in the same way) over and over again, and expecting it to gain popularity instead of bottoming out like it always does.

Some of that problem is not finding people that are passionate about the game to keep wanting to play it every day.
