feels like there needs to be a more hands on staff team for factions.
lots of unneeded drama that escalated to personal shit for no reason.
people being banned for no reason (lol)
people being both accused and exposed for cheating yet nothing was done

I want to personally apologize for contributing to the overall state of Factions in the past, -2016, when I was more than a little responsible for bullying BadBrad into a total state of mental and moral depression which he never fully recovered from, resulting in his current need to be an edgy piece of shit today.

freshen sft up abit? when we were loosing players a full server reset happend and that made people stay and play again as it was all fresh but imo you need to invest into making other game servers as sft has lost all of its steam community that was built on gmod tf2 and rust minecraft aint going be popular forever so looking into new games is always good and not games that a potato can run,  high end games like dayz with promoting and everything else it could get popular like the game already is

team fortress server?? or left for dead server??

If they've still got a playerbase yeah that's possible, TF2 is free and everyone has L4D.

From what I know on the tf2 side, even though there is an overwhelming bot crises going on people are still playing tf2 regardless (Also I believe tow tried setting up a server for tf2 yet idk what happened with it)

What kind of server do you mean and are cs servers popular still?

From what I have seen/heard, CSGO seems just as popular. What I think happens with the non-minecraft servers is that they don't seem to get the acceptance from the players as much. However, I think CSGO is a more versatile game, and has a big popular name, like Minecraft. I believe many will be interested, like Palker, and that it could succeed.

Edit: Other people have also suggested interested in this!

Thing is people get bored quickly on cs:go and just leave it wouldnt last 2 weeks

CSGO is popular but unless you like the game it would probably get boring-unless you had a lot of new players entering it.

It's a good game don't get me wrong but will turn boring after a few hours and will die in the matter of a week plus can't make money to help run the server from

Right my POV from helping set up sft steam games,  every time we do a not a minecraft server it quickly dies because all the good games that are popular people can't run because they are high specs that's why TTT did well because it doesn't require tons of graphics so unless you can find a game with low specs so people can run it it won't be popular , my game suggestion is deadside it's really fun open world zombies survival can build bases ect and have servers to host for cheap and isn't that much of a high spec game

Will look into that!  Also high spec is not an issue so long as we keep in mind we'd need to advertise to a new audience rather than just SFT's current player base (which is something I think we should do anyways tbh)

We have done before advertised to other people apart from sft and it worked brilliantly on TTT and also arma 2 dayz but then it died as people started moaning they can't run it or died and can't get there stuff back as helping with both of theses projects it would need a different approach on a game where you don't loose your stuff to stop the drama but most good games that have servers ain't like that so need a more mature audience if you want go down the dayz - online survival games

The pattern there is that those servers happened years ago, it's been a long time since we've made a decent attempt at a non-mc server.

There is a pattern yes and ages since hosted but still you can't just pick a game that's a free to play game like all the free to play games suck bad and won't keep a player base a game that you pay for and has high hopes and good intrest will keep growing a player base , dayZ arma2 , Arma 3 life , Arma3 Dayz, all have high player bases still but yet again there will be drama because if people die they will cry and moan, I've seen TF2 being suggested it's always alive for a week and then dead because the game ain't relevant anymore it's fun yeah but not enough to keep players playing , left 4 dead is a playerside hosted server only can't make a server for anyone to join,

@Kakota FYI, 1.8.9 would be the best version to play on (not 1.8., although ik the server is 1.8.8 cause for some reason the only 1.8 version of paper was that.

Yea I know that and like it said in the post they want to satisfy the pvpers and obvs the vote wouldn't be Even or to scale with none pvpers voting we have had 10 skyblock servers and they have all lasted a week if not shorter if it was all pvp based it would bring in another part of the community and more players who pvp

There is a PvP aspect but like Tera said, it will be optional. Since this is after all skyblock, there it would not be heavily focused on PvP.

Definitely worth the try. The version which skyblock supports is the latest but there is 1.8 PvP mechanics which have been implemented. There will be more info on this once it is released!

Can you elaborate on this please? Do you mean more plugins like /murder or do you mean more EventHost hosted, built events in world 3?

Actual pvp events /murder is not pvp - im meaning like TDM,CTF, Free for all, and maybe some pvp arenas for people to practice like on the faction server how @evan had the duel plugin i feel how the game is spose to be survival there is lack of player on player game modes, we have the builds for pvp game modes in /w3 and would be nice to have some fresh ones ( as the ones that are there now have been used for theses type of plugins)

As you are probs thinking people are going cause drama if they loose there stuff during a pvp event thats why we use to have kits already done for it like how in Mob area they have kits already and you dont loose anything! we use to have a team death match plugin that was free to join at any time like how /murder is but not sure what happend to it! And maybe add the guns version of them game modes and maybe not and keep it Minecraft style and keep it with a sword armor and a bow and separate them in to different classes and could make more kits like healer for the attacking people ect (Just a example of types of kits)

Id be happy to work on ideas for new areas for pvp events i dont mind giving my time to help out at all

The idea of a hardcore factions server would be good but are you going be doing you've got pay to be revive to be able to join back after you've died or?

I feel like not much good would come from yet another factions server, its just a breeding ground for toxicity

If you do go ahead with making it then there definitely needs to be some kind of personal player muting plugin implemented & some very detailed rules to try and minimize the damage it could cause

The rules for factions last time weren't good at all they were left open for loop holes to be implemented into breaking them and everything like many of the players said they was not strong enough for a factions server like the rule you can't flame but you can bait them but if they say stop you've got stop like so many loop holes in that rule

rallyreaper suggested MODDED factions and it still sounds a good idea with guns tanks planes different way to get material and everything stronger bricks, guns and stuff but got shot down this might be a idea to contact rallyreaper as he knows more on the idea
