Proposed 1.9 additions to SFTMMO

So, I decided to put this on paper, or rather in a post so I don't forget.

Here's some things I propose to happen in 1.9 for SFTMMO.

Erytra
- Remove the "Glider" perk from SFTMMO as it's now redundant
- Reset everyone's Acrobatics level to 0 and make it about 100% - 200% harder to level up
- Add Elytra as a reward for reaching max level for Acrobatics
- Add a new "Gliding" skill which you can basically level up only with an elytra and only after acrobatics progression is 100% (for now just make it level up by gliding / falling from a glider, stuff like that and we'll think later about perks but I'm thinking elytra specific perks like get a speed boost or get an altitude boost something like that for perks)
 - Elytra as vote rewards. This is a tough one. I don't want anyone with theira crobatic level under 100 getting an elytra unless they get it from the end (if we do add the end). This means that we need an api so VoteRewards can get if someone's max level in acrobatics, and only if they are, have a chance to receive the elytra as a tier 5 vote reward

Dual Wielding:
- Add a dual wielding skill, I got nothing now so I guess we'll have to see how dual wielding works fully then decide on this one.

Current combat skills
- Current combat skills will likely need rebalancing seing as the combat mechanics changed drastically. I am not sure what needs to be done yet but I am guessing a nerf on SFTMMO bonus damages due to the entirely new combat mechanics. This also needs studying

End skill
A new End skill. Remains to be seen how the end will work in multiplayer now so I guess this is on hold for now.


Elytra WILL NOT be sold at emp / in premium shop. I want this to be an endgame experience (or basically after you progressed a bit into the game already).


I assume full responsibility and consequences for resetting everyone's Acrobatics level. I know it's gonna get a decent amount of hate but at this point I feel like it's for the best interest of SFT as we would basically add a skill to SFTMMO which is progresion - unlocked and that lone is worth it.

I like the proposed changes and updates, however, with the acrobatics skill is it possible to not make it harder to level up by such a large percentage? (200%) It is already quite difficult leveling it up currently, even with the best possible training area and a high prestige level (2-3hours nonstop estimated).

I'd feel good with a 100% increase but not less.

Here's a wild thought - As a final-ish perk when you get max level @ Gliding you could give a perk that allows users to shoot arrows from the elytra so like two arrows shoot from the player's wings or something in the same direction as he's looking.
This would make it possible to have dogfights and would be hella cool xD

I've been looking at 1.9 and what elytra do, and I think it's a good idea to make them not able to be shop bought, as this would encourage players to go look for them and play more (can't wait for 1.9!)

Acrobatics is already hard enough to get / tedious for people - we dont need it reset to 0 or making harder

It will definitely be reset to 0 and made at least 100% harder seing as this whole new skill will depend on it.

Personally i believe it would be unfair not to have it this way as they would have met the requirements 7 times and are now only obligated to complete a new skill before prestige

@Axonaxirah I'm not entire sure I understand what you're asking, but from what I gather you are asking if people who have prestiged will be set back because of the new skill or not.

My assumption would be that they will not have their prestige level lowered, and although they will have to get gliding up in order to prestige in the future, any current prestige levels are most likely safe.

If you are asking if you will need to get the gliding skill up to max in order to prestige in the future, the answer is most likely yes, since the requirement for prestiging is having all SFTMMO skills maxed.

@Fractalion Yeah what i meant but couldn't explain very clearly was that i wasn't sure whether past prestiges were 100% safe.

And yeah i'd assume also that gliding will need to be maxed as all skills need to be maxed before prestige.

(Proceeds to be my third attempt at posting this) I think this is a good idea because crates aren't easy to obtain but they would also be a nice surprise, but they would stay as a rare item. Which crate series would the elytra be in if it were to go ahead?
