[Survival] We're running out of usable world space

Measures that will be taken imediately:
-A huge BCV run will start, hosted by funkymonkey245 (our new BCV manager, this will be her role from now on, overseing BCV runs and managing the world's free space via BCV's)
- World1 will be expanded a bit to allow for more space
- We will start procedures for a World2 resets. This means we'll try to find a suitable world, have a spawntown built / added to it, and only then we'll annoucne and do the reset. There will be an official announcement 30 days before the reset.
- Towny rent has been HALFED - Rent is now half in Towny world. Use this! The towny world will never / almost never be reset because it automatically regenerates the towns of players that aren't playing any more / don't have any residents. Use that to your advantage. Move your builds (manually) / stuff you care about (that will survive across world resets), to the Towny world. This will mean paying a bit of rent, yes, but why else are you hoarding all those EmpBucks ? xD

PS: The green/red rectangles are WorldGuard protections.

Thank you funky and towelie for striking a good balance between keeping a tidy server and helping us keep our hard-earned work!  SFT is remaining one of the best servers around for good reason!

Increasing W1 from 3500x3500 to 4500x4500 -> That's the biggest increase i've ever done in a world.
Server might lag for the next hour while the world expands. The world change will take ~12h to appear in dynmap (as rendering is not instant)

By moving builds manually do you mean that some staff can still transport builds between worlds?

This is basically an option to everyone:
If you don't want a reset of w1 too: Spam the Jmods, Mods and Managers with builds you think are BCV's. We need you to report as many as possible, so we can get some of those green squares removed :)  :zombie:

Mind if I build a small part in the new spawntown? I have a really cool idea in mind, if this is allowed, the architects can also change the materials used if they want! :)

could we also report broken and destroyed terrain to managers+ and have them fix the land?
ex: All the gravel missing in Extreme hills regions. Mesa biomes are destroyed. Deserts barely have any sand left in them.

Also I've noticed that the newer biomes such as Ice Plain Spikes is protected and cannot be built on at all.

wait, why the reset for w2? there is still a lot of space there, i find no reason to reset it
plus,people have large progects all taking place in the tropics :( like the jpp :(

No builds moved at all for now. It means you cannot get your building move yet until they announce that there will be a world reset, so calm down we might still be able to get a build moved.

I took Towelie's message (#7) to mean that they are so early in the "reset process" that it's premature to begin talking about moving buildings.  It sounds like the world hasn't even been generated yet so it's kind of pointless to begin discussing buildings moving from place to place.

People have thrown the idea for a /w* reset for a while and each time I've seen answers that basically amount to "we won't have solid answers until a world is physically created somewhere".  Creating the spawntown will take a good bit of time as it is.  Until we hit the point when Towelie is announcing a 30-days out warning, I wouldn't get too freaking out about buildings disappearing.

Almost every world reset we have had there has been a period of time where we are able to move building from the world being reset to another world by Manager+, I am sure that if there is a world reset something like this will probably be implemented again... even if there is a limit as to how many builds you can move.

No one asked, I was the only one, and 10x10 in like a 200x200 town, really isn't that big. I just wanted it to be something kind of like the museum.

Also, someone mentioned the museum- it'd be nice to have that back and updated by someone who knows what they're talkin about. Probably only Towelie left who was around for all the historic events.

Yeah we tried to get it done in the current W2, but miricx was too lazy and was banned half of the time. It'd be nice to find someone who has been around since 2010 to help out with this, if there's anyone around/wanting to help/has the time.

Also, why is it so hard to spend 1 minute or less of your time fixing a Mod+'s head to be removed/added?

You spend all your time making a massive spawntown, hours and hours on end, but yet you hate to spend a few minutes on such an important/cool section.

I actually do know from experience how quick it is to add yourself to a protection and delete something. And Mod+'s and Jmod+'s are always asking if anybody needs help, so if for about 10 seconds no one says anything, then you do that instead.

tobminer, your idea was nice! But unfortunately it has been tried before and it just becomes outdated and then forgotten about... I'm sure the last person that suggested it thought it'd be easy to update but where is it now? My point being tobminer, it has been trialed and failed, perhaps if you could do one in your own town and keep it updated it might prove to us that it could be done, that does not mean it will be though D:

I just wanted new players to know the staff members and their ranks so they could find them more easily, if I do it in my town, no new players will warp there because they already left spawn. Maybe a warp to my town to let them know the staff?

P.S. If I were to do this, I wouldn't use my EMPBucks because it would cost millions of emp to do this.

In world 3 we have two boards, one for the EventHosts and another for Current/ex-admins, we struggle enough to remember to update this. We can just tell players to do /who - it's pretty easy to tell the staff apart by their colours. And ofcourse, staff are always typing in chat so they can easily tell who the staff are.

Everyone, please CALM DOWN!
I'm spending all my free time trying to find suitable space for the new world and doing maintenance for survival. I'm working as fast as I can. Until you see an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT about a World2 reset, I don't want you asking about moving builds or anything like that!
Once you see the official announcement, you can ask, but there'll most likely be clear announcements.
I haven't talked to the Managers yet about what to do / whether to move because it's pointless to talk until I have a suitable world and we start working on transforming it into the new world.

As Towelie said, the procedures of the reset are STILL UNDER DISCUSSION. While it is understandable for people to worry about having their builds deleted. But please! No official word about the arrangement of /w2 builds have been released yet. I know you're worried, but please be patient. And know that we here value you guys as players and we hope to please you players as much as possible when it comes to gameplay and we're not bad people, we want the best for your gameplay and builds. And we'll try our best to fulfil your desires
