In an interview with Red Bull explains that one of the EA bosses, Andrew Wilson, the company will invest more in e-sports henceforth. This is because it is here to stay and even to grow. When asked Wilson's view of e-sports, he answers:

"...what eSports does either through the playing of the game or watching people play the game is really bring people together around great, creative entertainment. I actually think it's going to continue to grow."

Wilson continues and tells that both EA's sports games and other titles will be considered for investment in e-sports:

"We have some ready-made franchises for this in our sports properties, but we also have a number of other franchises that people may not typically think about as eSports opportunities, but we think there might be an opportunity in the future, so it's something that you're going to see more of from us."

Perhaps we therefore go into a new era where there will be more money, focus and media coverage of e-sports because Activision is already working hard on the phenomenon of both the Call of Duty-series and Blizzard titles. What do you think about e-sports?

I know esports are already really big and are actually one of the main sports in some places that are mostly in or near Asia. If you watch the movie on steam "Free to Play" it talks about how big esports are in some areas and it basically goes along with what Andrew Wilson said that they assume esports are gonna be one of the biggest franchises of entertainment in the near future. Already theres huge amounts of people who watch and compete in esports for increasingly large amounts of money, such as The International (Dota competition) in 2011 had a prize of 1.6 million dollars for 1st place.
