[Global News] New huge flying insect discovered in China; Wingspan of 21cm

The Lovin Spoon

A new specimen of an insect was found this month in a mountain in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China. The insect belongs to the order of Megaloptera and has a wingspan of 21 centimeters—8.3 inches.

Photo taken on July 17, 2014 shows a specimen of an insect in the order Megaloptera which is discovered in a mountain of Chengdu, Sichuan province. With its wingspan measured as 21 centimeters, the insect won the title of the largest aquatic insect in the world.
