The nether was reset and you can now use TNT in the nether (when I say use, i mean blow stuff up with it).

Also, I just did /nether and it teleported me into lava. lucky for me I saw it coming and did /home.  Just a little bug, maybe should be looked into...

The nether's always been buggy with warps etc. It's worth your while to ensure you've got fire potions before you go in, and make sure you've got expendable stuff on you. :P

anyone know how often it will be reset roughly? or is this temporarily a one time thing (atleast until it becomes an explosive wasteland) ?

Seems like it get's reset anywhere between 2-4 months.
