I have been previously and will continue to do so 

I find in the context of Pixelmon, it's not being used often enough to facilitate the trade of Pokemon and items. Whenever I see someone spamming a trade offer in chat with little results, I refer them to the forums.

I guess cause of my rank I get a lot of people asking about ranking up and how to do things in the community generally I will give them some advice on whatever it is they are asking. But I will also usually end by telling them that making a presence on the forums is always a good idea to hear news and get more well-known in the community.

I had a thought the other day... (I know scary!).
I put the question out on Survival (only about 15 people playing at the time), would any of the players vote for staff if there was a 'oscar' style awards for staff members.
Sparkle_Sun and I were the only staff on at the time and the feed back was very encouraging. Some people were shocked that SFT staff didn't get paid for all the hard work they put in - I was equally as shocked to find out also, I thought my check had got lost in the mail :p

Anyway... I digress...

So, my thought was, get players to vote for the "yearly SFT awards" for there favourite staff members, games (events)... this would require them to make a forum account and fill in multiple choice voting questions about staff, games etc... multiple awards could be given out just like the oscars but more importantly it would give the players the opportunity to get involved in something that they can see having an effect.
The event could be hosted like the oscars in one of the big venues in W4, I think could be a load of fun for staff and players alike? I also think a LARGE random prize could be given out to "one lucky voting participant" as a further incentive to the players to vote and get involved?

Of course this is only a bit of fun from a staff point of view but from a players perspective it will get them on to the forum and who knows they might even read some of the other posts and get involved more going forward?

I've been MIA for quite some time, but way back when the forums was a large part of what made sft so special and it's a shame to see that has diminished some. I'll do my best when im on from time to time to shout out the forums. Miss you guys
